SPORÁ #2

SPORÁ PRGRAMA_ VERA MANTERO
The thinking body

The creator Vera Mantero proposes an encounter around composition / interpretation.

Relaxation, use of the voice, writing, breathing and free association are some of the means that we will use to reach movements, actions, structures and desired compositions that are already in us. We will explore some of these tools separately to incorporate them later in longer and complex improvisations, but also on the processes of composition. The particular states of conscience, the attention to external and interior signs (awareness), the use of space, objects and materials will also be important. Irony and empty hands will take us even further.

Formed in classical dance, dancer and choreographer Vera Mantero is considered one of the most prominent names of the New Portuguese Dance. She started creating his own choreographies in 1987 and has, since then, presented her creations, a personal combination of dance and performance, throughout all Europe, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Canada and the USA, as well as in Asian countries like Singapore or South Korea.

This meeting takes place at the same time as the presentation of Os Serrenhos do Caldeirão, exercises of fictional anthropology performance within the Grec Festival 2018.

This event is part of the Sporá Prógrams that also offers:
