LA CALDERA DANCE CREATION CENTER
Call
La Caldera opens the Ordinary Call of the residency programme for the period from January to December 2027 + Extraordinary Call Barcelona Crea Creation Factories Grant 2026
This call includes three modalities:
- Research and creation residency 2027
- Technical residency 2027

RESEARCH AND CREATION RESIDENCY + TECHNICAL RESIDENCY / 2027
Aimed at creators, collectives and researchers linked to the performing arts, with trajectories from any artistic field, who consider the body, dance and/or movement as material, tool or central question in their project. Their origin may be local, national or international.
The residency call for the year 2027 has a budget of €35,000 allocated directly to payments to artists and companies (in addition to the budget allocated to cover production costs by La Caldera) as follows:
- Fees for the development of the residency in the Research and Creation modality, distributed among the selected projects depending on the artistic team, timing, duration and other associated expenses (with a minimum of €2,000.00 and maximum of €3,500.00 gross per project).
- Fees for the development of the technical residency, in the Technical modality, with a fixed amount of €1,000.00 gross per project, plus the costs associated with La Caldera’s technical staff for assembly and dismantling.
La Caldera will cover national and international travel expenses (up to a maximum to be negotiated), as well as the management and coordination of accommodation.
La Caldera may cover other production expenses — acquisition of materials necessary for the development of research and creation — to be negotiated in each case and from a specific economic fund separate from the previous ones, allocated to these residencies.
La Caldera is a project sensitive to the reconciliation between care time and working time, and offers the flexibility and necessary conditions (economic and production) to host artists in processes of maternity/paternity, or care of other dependent persons.
La Caldera has hold an online information session on Wednesday June 3, 2026 at 11:00am. You can watch the recording of the session here.
You can consult the selected projects in previous calls here.
