c a m p a r campo
c a m p a r campo is a regular, independent and vibrant training program, focused on the generation and transmission of knowledge in dance and performing arts, where the body is both focus and framework for action and reflection.
A context to mobilize collective study, artistic practices and methodologies, the accompaniment of research and creation processes, driven by collaborative principles of action and listening.
A platform to support research in different formats and share its knowledge, which each year invites an artist or curator to affect and conceive the program together with a faculty composed of artists linked to La Caldera and La Poderosa, along with other artists and professionals proposed by the curator.
Both La Caldera and La Poderosa consider that the vitality, renewal capacity, maturity and depth of the creative ecosystem depend on the exchange of information and experiences among its agents. Spaces of crossing, with the possible collisions and symbioses that arise from them, are the indispensable nourishment for the emergence of new artistic forms and languages: to animate, to cultivate and to reforest fields of experimentation, learning, encounter and de-formation. To enliven ways of roaming, of acting with responsibility and autonomy out of necessity, restlessness and urgency in the very heart of the art system, in connection with the tensions of the world and with the artistic task of questioning and remaining sensitively in the question.
This has been the starting point to collaboratively approach the conceptualization and design of an advanced training program in research and creation in dance and performing arts that, in 2025, opens its call with a view to its first edition in 2026: a permanent prototype of a knowledge transmission program that places research, creation, critical attention and the articulation of creative and imaginative communities at the center, in friction with artistic practices from the individual to the collective and back. A program that resists the tendency to turn the artist into an instrument of content production, stripping art of the micropolitical power of creation. And which, instead, proposes situations, relationships and spaces together with other artists, thinkers and audiences, deep processes of experimentation in contact with life and its tensions.
c a m p a r campo is an initiative of La Caldera Dance Creation Center and La Poderosa Space for Dance and its Contaminants, in collaboration with other allied spaces, programs and activities in Barcelona and Catalonia: art factories and creation centers, festivals, museums, universities and independent projects. Addressed to artists linked to dance and performing arts: creators, curators, thinkers, movers, researchers, choreographers, students, as well as professionals from other fields who place the body at the center of their processes.
